Hi. I’m Sarah …

It feels funny to introduce myself in the flat, interweb world. No hug. No handshake. No high five. No eye contact. A wee teaser until we meet in person.

Simply saying, "I'm Sarah. I'm a _____ " makes me squirm. I get it. We don't always have time for deep, connected conversations (which I love btw!) but distilling my entire identity into a soundbite feels kinda icky. Maybe it's just me?

Here's the thing, just like you, my life has been a kaleidoscope of experiences leading to this moment. So let's call bull-honk on the notion we are just one thing, shall we? I'd love to hear from you but since we are meeting in the wilds of the interwebs I'll go first ...

  • I write. Like, a lot. When I'm not scribbling in my many notebooks I write and share personal essays reflecting on my experiences at mid-life in my weekly newsletter on Substack.

  • I had so much to say I published a book! "Walking Forward" is part memoir, part guidebook on how I've leveraged the power of habit to navigate chaotic times in life. You can see what people had to say about it and order a copy here.

  • I'm a recovering interior designer and former burnt-out corporate-world operations wizard who is determined to live life on my own terms, at my own pace.

  • Walking is literally life for me. I love hiking in the mountains and even walked part of the fabled Camino de Santiago. I do my best thinking when I'm exploring the world on foot and am always dreaming of my next adventure.

  • Creating spaces for individuals to pause, reflect and identify how to feel more confident in life lights me up. Be it in group workshops or through one-on-one coaching, nothing makes me happier than seeing women find the clarity they seek and walk away with a plan to help them move forward.

  • Adventuring with my husband and three boys is my most favourite thing to do.

  • It's taken me a long time to realize that a full and beautiful life is about the small, consistent actions that fill our everyday lives, not the grand romantic gestures I've long obsessed over in the movies.

Life is too short to wait for the perfect moment. Just start. Keep going. I’m cheering for you.

Now it's your turn. Tell me, what lights you up?
