one month … part two

I am back with more reflections after launching Walking Forward. If you missed Part 1 you can catch up here.

It seems there are nuggets to be found at every turn so I am sure this won't be the last "things I've learned post"!

Lesson #6

Nothing happens overnight. I'd been talking about Walking Forward for months before it launched. Even when I wasn't sure I wanted to tell anyone what I was doing I started small and worked my way from there. By the time it launched, people knew it was coming and they were just as excited as I was!

Nugget ... Even if you don't feel like something is ready to be shared with others start with little bits here and there. When you are ready to launch people will know it's coming and line up beside you in support.

Lesson #7

People read books in different ways. Some read from start to finish. Some read sections. Some read and pause to do the footprint exercises as they go. Some buy a book and don't read it.

Nugget ... It is not about how you choose to share your message - it is about sharing what you have to say in many different ways so you can impact as many people as possible (PS: Walking Forward ... audiobook coming soon!).

Lesson #8

Post-launch, I need time to reset. I have so many ideas but my brain is fried. My focus is crap. It takes longer right now to do things. I need to take my own advice and consciously pause and take a brain break.

Nugget ... Listen to what your body and brain are telling you. Pushing through never works in the end. If this means a night off, a weekend off or a week off prioritize the reset. It will get you going again.

Lesson #9

My story matters. Once I started reflecting on who I was and why I do what I do the puzzle pieces started to come together. Launching Walking Forward has made me want to help others share their stories.

Nugget ... Your story matters too. Start with the belief that it does. If you need some questions to help you get started I know a great book🙂

Lesson #10

I feel like I am just getting started. After hearing how Walking Forward has impacted others I have many ideas for what is next and am excited for what's to come!

Nugget ... Don't wait for someday to pursue the thing that you've always wanted to do. Tomorrow is never guaranteed. If you start today you'll soon be closer than you ever dreamed.

After reading the first five lessons and now lessons 6 through 10 ... anything you could apply in your own life?

PS - I regularly share essays and other notes you might like. I would love it if you took a minute to subscribe for more.
